A Journey From Stillness to Awakening

May 2027

From Stillness to Joy

An immersive journey where we stop being tourists and become explorers of happiness, spirituality, culture, and consciousness through lived experience, sacred traditions, and authentic human connection.

This expedition invites us into cultures that have preserved profound wisdom about simplicity, compassion, mindfulness, and human flourishing, not as concepts, but as ways of living.

We do not travel simply to see new places.

We travel to encounter different ways of being, to slow down enough to listen deeply, question our assumptions, and reconnect with what truly matters.

Through Bhutan — and optionally Thailand — we explore two distinct expressions of Buddhist culture and two complementary paths toward happiness: one rooted in stillness and contemplation, the other in warmth, harmony, and joyful presence.

His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck dared to ask a different question…

What if the true measure of progress is not Gross Domestic Product, but

“Gross National Happiness (GNH)?

More than a philosophy, Bhutan has developed a national framework rooted in wellbeing, cultural preservation, environmental stewardship, conscious development, and collective flourishing. Through Gross National Happiness (GNH), spirituality and happiness are not treated as abstract ideals, but as practical foundations for how society is organized and life is lived.

GNH Effects

Bhutan's leading government policy

  • Ranked one of the top 10 safest countries in the world
  • The world's only carbon negative country
  • Over 70% of the country remains forested
  • The only country with no traffic lights
  • One of the world's last countries to introduce internet and television

Optional Thailand Extension

An optional 5-day integration experience in Chiang Mai, the cultural and spiritual heart of Northern Thailand.

After the contemplative stillness of Bhutan, Thailand invites us into a softer exploration of joy, compassion, embodiment, and human connection. Through temples, nature, ethical elephant sanctuaries, local traditions, and mindful cultural immersion, we experience how spirituality can be naturally integrated into daily life.

Rooted in the warmth and relational harmony of Thai culture and Theravada Buddhist traditions, this experience is designed as a gentle transition back into the world — carrying the insights of Bhutan into movement, beauty, and joyful presence.

Chiang Mai offers a unique atmosphere where ancient wisdom and modern life coexist gracefully, allowing participants to continue the journey not through intensity, but through openness, simplicity, and embodied awareness.

This is an invitation to return home differently: more present, more connected, and more alive.

Voices from the programmes

What Happytalistas say after walking the path.

Validated words from coaches, professionals and Chief Well-Being Officers who have taken part in our programmes, Fests and retreats.

  • Bhutan gave me something my calendar never could: enough stillness to hear what I already knew. Away from the noise of constant decisions, I reconnected with the values I want my leadership to express. I returned with fewer priorities and far greater clarity.

    Executive Leader|Bhutan

  • Before engaging with the World Happiness Foundation, I often treated well-being as something separate from performance. The program helped me see that people do their best work when meaning, trust, and humanity are built into the way we lead. That insight changed both my coaching conversations and the results my clients pursue.

    Executive Coach|United States

  • The retreat invited us to experience happiness not as a destination, but as a way of relating to life. The landscape, the conversations, and the rhythm of reflection helped me become more present. That presence now travels with me into every coaching session.

    Coach|Nepal

  • The Foundation gave me language for something I had felt for years: real transformation begins inside, but it cannot end there. I now help leaders connect personal awareness with the cultures and communities they influence. My work feels deeper, more courageous, and more useful.

    Leadership Coach|Canada

  • In Bhutan, well-being became more than a professional subject. It became a lived inquiry into culture, community, balance, and responsibility. I returned to my organization asking more courageous questions about what progress should truly mean.

    Chief Well-Being Officer|Sri Lanka

  • I came looking for new coaching tools and found a much larger invitation - to accompany people toward lives of purpose, connection, and contribution. The program expanded my practice while reminding me why I became a coach in the first place.
