ROUSER at Master Depth

ICF competency anchor: Coaching Mindset — Markers 2.1-2.6 at MCC depth · Maintains Presence — Markers 6.1-6.5 at MCC depth

90 min

This week

ROUSER was introduced at Level 1, deepened across Level 2. At Level 3, the master coach engages the model at the depth where the seventh dimension emerges. The original ROUSER articulates six pillars (Relationships, Openness, Understanding, Self-Awareness, Empowerment, Reflection). At master depth, a seventh dimension surfaces in working coaches — the dimension Luis Miguel Gallardo names 'the Held.' It is the experience of being met by the lineage one is part of, of being supported by the field of all who have walked before. The MCC operates from this seventh dimension consciously.

Contemplative practice of the week

The Master ROUSER

Twenty-five minutes daily. Sit. Then go through the six pillars in sequence — Relationships, Openness, Understanding, Self-Awareness, Empowerment, Reflection — feeling each dimension's current state in your own body and life. Spend three minutes per pillar. Then enter the seventh dimension — the Held. Feel the lineage that holds you. Name the figures one by one. Feel them as present. The full practice takes about 25 minutes. Master coaches do this practice for the rest of their working lives. The seventh dimension is what makes master coaching sustainable across decades.

Learning objectives

  • Articulate the seventh ROUSER dimension — 'the Held' — in your own experience.
  • Identify when you are operating from the seventh dimension versus when you are doing master coaching from your own resources alone.
  • Recognize the lineage that holds you — the named teachers, traditions, and ancestors of your specific practice.
  • Develop the daily practice of acknowledging and drawing on the lineage.
  • Apply the full seven-dimensional ROUSER to your most challenging current client.

Session architecture

  • Hour 1 — The seventh dimension. Lead Instructor presents the seventh dimension — its phenomenology, its measurement signatures, its relationship to ICEF. Brief discussion of the research basis for it (qualitative interviews with senior coaches; in-development quantitative work).
  • Hour 2 — Personal lineage articulation. Each student takes 30 minutes to write their personal lineage in detail — named teachers (alive and ancestral), traditions, books, retreats, mentors, and any specific transmissions received. The lineage map is shared briefly in cohort.
  • Hour 3 — The lineage-holding practice. A 45-minute guided practice. Students sit. Faculty leads them through felt-sense access to each named figure in their lineage. By the end, the student can feel the lineage as a tangible field around them. This is the seventh dimension as direct experience.
  • Hour 4 — Master practicum. Each student conducts a 30-minute coaching session with the explicit silent intention of operating from the seventh dimension. Faculty observes for the difference in field-quality between sessions held from the first six dimensions versus the full seven.

Reading

  • The Transpersonal Leader — full chapters on the seventh ROUSER dimension and its master-depth applications
  • ROUSER documentation v2.2 — re-read with seventh-dimension awareness
  • Selected reading on the lineage tradition in Tibetan Buddhism — the lineage prayer

Lineages at work

ROUSER (anchor) — the seventh dimension at master depth · Transpersonal — lineage as continuous holding · Contemplative — the saints and ancestors as continuous field · ICEF — the seventh dimension as the marker of master integration

Milestone

Personal lineage map written in detail with all named figures. Seven-dimensional ROUSER reading completed for one current high-stakes client. The Master ROUSER daily practice integrated. Three peer-coaching sessions held from explicit seventh-dimension intention. The phenomenology of operating from the seventh dimension articulated in personal language.

Reflection prompt

Who is in my lineage? Have I named them, or have I been treating my work as if it began with me? When I open to the seventh dimension, what changes in my experience of my work? What is the cost of not consciously drawing on the lineage? Whom in my lineage do I most need to acknowledge that I have been overlooking?
