The Happytalist Alternative — GPTM View 9

Capitalism optimized for GDP. GDP measured D4 — badly. It missed the body, the belonging, the meaning and the planet. The GPTM's data makes the alternative unavoidable: Happytalism, an operating system that optimizes for Gross Global Happiness across all seven domains and translates flourishing into governance, enterprise and personal life.

Why GDP had to fail

• GDP counts a car crash and its lawsuit as growth, and a grandmother caring for a child as zero.
• GDP rewards extraction and penalizes regeneration.
• GDP is blind to D1, D2, D3, D5, D6 and D7 — six of the seven domains that determine whether a human being flourishes.

What Gross Global Happiness measures

The GGH index folds the 7 GPTM domains together with the Fundamental Peace Index, the Harvard Flourishing measures (VanderWeele), Hawkins' Map of Consciousness, and community-level well-being data. It is not a replacement for economic measurement — it is the container within which economic measurement finally makes sense.

Happytalism as an operating system

• Governance: Cities of Happiness with Chief Well-Being Officers, citizen dashboards, quarterly measurement.
• Enterprise: the ROUSER model and CWBO certification, delivered in partnership with the UN University for Peace.
• Education: Schools of Happiness — Teachers of Happiness embedding D2/D5 into the developmental window.
• Health: Hospitals of Happiness integrating ASC modalities into clinical care.
• Travel: Destinations of Happiness measuring visitor and resident well-being.
