Week 21 of 36

Teaching ITM, Mandala, and Meta Pets

ICF competency anchor: Embodies a Coaching Mindset — Marker 2.6 at MCC depth · Evokes Awareness — Marker 7.1 at MCC depth

90 min

This week

These three frameworks are Luis Miguel Gallardo's original transformation models. Teaching them well is part of the lineage's living transmission. The ITM is the developmental scaffolding. The Mandala is the operational instrument. The Meta Pets Method is the symbolic deployment. Each requires its own teaching craft. Each can be taught alone or together. Master teachers know when each applies.

Contemplative practice of the week

The Lineage Articulation

Twenty-five minutes daily, rotating through the three models across the week. Day 1: ITM — articulate aloud the three pillars, five stages, seven mechanisms, four-step protocol. Day 2: Mandala — articulate the eleven emotion families, the SGE arc, the 5-step micro-protocol. Day 3: Meta Pets — articulate the origin, architecture, why-it-works, uses. By the end of the three-day cycle, you have articulated all three models from your integration. The lineage articulation includes acknowledging Gallardo as the author and locating yourself within the lineage as a steward. The practice cultivates appropriate humility (not your model) and appropriate ownership (your teaching of the model).

Learning objectives

  • Articulate the ITM, Mandala, and Meta Pets each in your own voice.
  • Develop teaching sequences for each that make the model land.
  • Practice teaching one of the three models with mastery.
  • Recognize when each model is the right teaching for the audience.
  • Begin building your own teaching artifacts for these frameworks.

Session architecture

  • Hour 1 — The three frameworks revisited. Lead Instructor presents an exemplary teaching of each — ITM in 15 min, Mandala in 15 min, Meta Pets in 15 min. Students observe the architecture, the metaphors, the field-quality.
  • Hour 2 — Personal selection and design. Each student selects one of the three to teach in detail and designs a 20-minute teaching sequence.
  • Hour 3 — Cohort teaching practicum. Three students teach their selected framework. Cohort responds as the intended audience. Structured feedback.
  • Hour 4 — Continuing teaching practicum. Synthesis. The three frameworks, their relationships, when each is the right teaching.

Reading

  • The Transpersonal Leader — chapters on the three original models in detail
  • The three foundational articles — ITM, Mandala, Meta Pets — re-read with teaching intention
  • Selected reading on teaching frameworks within a lineage — examples from contemplative traditions of teachers passing on master teachings

Lineages at work

Transpersonal (anchor) — teaching the original models with lineage acknowledgment · ITM — articulation and teaching · Mandala — articulation and teaching · Meta Pets — articulation and teaching · Coaching — original-model teaching as part of engagements

Milestone

All three original models articulated from memory in cohort. One model taught in detail to the cohort with feedback received. One model taught to a real audience with self-assessment. The Lineage Articulation daily practice (rotating through the models) integrated. Lineage acknowledgment language developed for use in teaching.

Reflection prompt

Which of the three models do I teach with the most embodiment? Which one is hardest for me? What does that show me about my own integration of each model? When I teach a Gallardo model, how do I acknowledge the lineage without making it about Gallardo and not about the work? What is the right balance?
