This week
The ICEF is more complex than ROUSER. Teaching it requires more care, more sequencing, more pedagogical craft. This week develops the capacity to teach the full ICEF — GPTM, FP, three-layer measurement, ICEI/GCEI, FPS-20, Hawkins — in ways that land for the audience. The work is to make a complex framework accessible without dumbing it down.
Contemplative practice of the week
The ICEF Articulation Practice
Thirty minutes daily, with one element of the ICEF rotating each day. Day 1: GPTM — articulate aloud the seven domains, what each captures, how to read them, common pitfalls. Day 2: FP and the four components. Day 3: The three-layer measurement architecture. Day 4: ICEI. Day 5: GCEI. Day 6: FPS-20. Day 7: Hawkins. By the end of the seven days, you have articulated the full ICEF from your own integration. Master teachers of the ICEF do this practice for years. The framework becomes part of their natural language.
Learning objectives
- Articulate the full ICEF in your own voice without notes.
- Develop a teaching sequence that makes the framework accessible to non-specialists.
- Practice teaching one element (e.g., GPTM, or Hawkins, or FPS-20) with mastery.
- Recognize when an audience can receive complexity and when they need simplicity.
- Build the teaching artifacts (slides, exercises, examples) you will use repeatedly.
Session architecture
- Hour 1 — The teaching architecture. Lead Instructor presents an exemplary teaching sequence for the ICEF — how to introduce, how to layer, how to land. Students take notes on the architecture, not the content (which they know).
- Hour 2 — Personal teaching architecture. Each student designs their own teaching sequence for the ICEF — for their specific likely audiences (clients, teams, leaders). The sequence is shared in pairs.
- Hour 3 — Cohort teaching practicum. Three students teach a 15-minute slice of the ICEF (their choice of element). The cohort responds as the intended audience. Structured feedback.
- Hour 4 — Continuing cohort teaching practicum. Synthesis: what makes ICEF teaching land? What pitfalls are common? What is the master teacher's particular skill with complex frameworks?
