Week 32 of 36

The Faculty Capstone

ICF competency anchor: Embodies a Coaching Mindset — Marker 2.6 at MCC depth

90 min

This week

For Level 3 students drawn to faculty role, an additional dimension is added to the capstone: a teaching capstone that demonstrates faculty-level capability. This week is for those students. For students not drawn to faculty, the week continues capstone implementation. The cohort moves at two paces this week, which is a master move in itself.

Contemplative practice of the week

The Teaching Capstone

For faculty-bound students: 45 minutes before the teaching capstone. Sit. Establish the witness. Stabilize at 500+. Bring to mind the cohort that will receive the teaching. Hold the bestowal posture for them. Release any concern about being evaluated — the evaluation will happen. The teaching is what matters now. For non-faculty students: 25 minutes daily on the capstone implementation as practice (Implementation Stillness deepened).

Learning objectives

  • For faculty-bound students: deliver the faculty capstone — a 60-minute teaching observed by faculty.
  • For non-faculty students: make substantial capstone progress and deepen ongoing client work.
  • Hold the cohort's two-pace work without making one path more valuable than the other.
  • Recognize the lineage's need for both paths.
  • Begin the formal apprenticeship for those continuing toward faculty.

Session architecture

  • Hour 1 — Faculty capstones part 1. Three faculty-bound students each deliver a 20-minute teaching segment. Faculty observes formally. Cohort serves as audience. Detailed feedback after each.
  • Hour 2 — Faculty capstones part 2. Remaining faculty-bound students deliver their teaching segments.
  • Hour 3 — Non-faculty capstone progress. The non-faculty-bound students share progress on their capstones in a parallel circle. Cohort support and reflection.
  • Hour 4 — Synthesis circle. Both groups come together. Each path is honored. The lineage's continuation through both paths is articulated.

Reading

  • For faculty-bound: continuing reading on teaching at master depth
  • For non-faculty: continuing reading from capstone-specific bibliography

Lineages at work

Transpersonal (anchor) — faculty apprenticeship completion · All teaching lineages — culmination of teaching capacity development

Milestone

For faculty-bound: faculty capstone teaching delivered, recorded, evaluated. Apprenticeship pathway formalized. For non-faculty: substantial capstone progress documented. The cohort's two-path work held with grace.

Reflection prompt

For faculty-bound: What did I learn about myself as a teacher in delivering the capstone? What is my next apprenticeship step? For non-faculty: How is my capstone progressing? What does the work need that I have not yet given it?
